Top 5 Positive things happening due to COVID-19 Lockdown in India
This post may sound controversial and you might have an entirely different view about it…

There are many positive changes witnessed amid COVID-19 fear … Things we should feel happy about.

Lockdown is painful for us but when we see the following 5 changes happening we may force to see another side of the coin…

Traditional Profession started operating from home

Professions like Teaching and Accounting where employees were only allowed to work within office premises tried their way out to continue functioning. Thanks to communication tools like Zoom, WhatsApp and cloud office tools which helped employees to continue their work.

My wife who is a Kendriya Vidyalaya teacher (Govt. run school), never imagined running classes from home. Now she is using WhatsApp and Youtube to take regular Maths classes. She also found creative ways to track attendances and manage homework. It is fascinating to see how these traditional professions began thinking beyond and leveraged technology to keep their work going.

Health and fitness topped in an otherwise sedentary lifestyle

People who always found their ways to get away with exercise citing work reasons went back and introduced fitness activities in their life.

Started Yoga, HIIT and Zumba to begin their fitness journey. I have friends who started intermittent fasting and reduced their food intake to improve immunity and lose weight. A couple of days back when I connected with them, they sounded strong and happy.

Boring sparked creativity and rediscovery of Hobbies

Due to the closure of social activities, we had to think of ways to stay mentally strong and connected. This forced us to think creatively to keep boring away and make homestay interesting.

Starting with board games like Ludo and chess, gardening, doodling, sketching, dancing, music and 100s of hobbies popped up which are enjoyed with friends and families. It was one of the reasons for the increase in happiness quotient among family members.

Rise of Digital certifications

Organizations and institutes like TCS, Oracle, IIM, Harvard university, IIL floated free certification courses to enable professionals and hobbyist get certified in their areas of interest which will help them grow during and after lockdown. There is an increase in paid online courses as well.

Reduction in pollution level: clean river, sky & air

Clean sky, golden sunrise, happy river are some of the dramatic impacts witnessed in cities across India. Better air to breath will definitely be going to help everyone especially who are suffering from respiratory diseases.
